Fork Springs

What about the number of turns and the wire dia? Especially the latter has a huge influence on the spring rate ( goes with power of 4!)

Did you measure the inside of your fork tubes?
The springs might not fit, the spring tubes surely won't
The spring rate is likely higher, being likely from a heavier bike

Oops..... the springs vvill fit, I'm told they are 23mm dia (possibly 23.5), and the existing springs vvhich fit inside the fork tubes OK are 28mm dia. The tubes have an outvvard pointing flange at one end, vvhich I'm guessing vvill have to be machined dovvn. I don't knovv the vvire diameter, but then I don't knovv the vvire diameter of the original springs either. I might as vvell try them.

If the springs are 23.5mm and not 33.5 like you said before they may be from 35mm forks like yours. It seems like a pretty small spring to use in 38mm forks, I don't know why Marzocchi would use the same size spring, but maybe they did. The eBay seller could be wrong, you can't really trust people on eBay to know exactly what they have.

In fact, the vendor told me 23, not 33 like I said on Saturday (too much vvine?).

The Marzocchi springs have arrived from UK. They are 23.5mm dia, 460mm long, 3.5mm vvire dia, 65 turns. As predicted, the flanges on the tubes are too big to go into my forks, but some simple machining vvill fix that.

Does the end of the spring vvhich is more closely vvound go at the top or the bottom?
