a ceramic bearings is something entirely differend as a polyamide caged bearing .

Re: Replacement Bearings
Ok then. next question.
Who makes the best bearings (Non-ceramic) in "your" opinion. (by "your" I mean anyone with an opinion)
NSK? SKF? FAG? Some Others?
I'm about to start sourcing bearings so it's relevant info for my future purchasing needs.

If you buy from a bearing specialist the discounts will allow you to get the best.

Re: Replacement Bearings
I have a personal experience of ceramic bearings. In the Porsche 996 engine there is an intermediate shaft that is chain driven off the crank. This shaft then drive the cams by a double row chain. The bearing that supports this shaft at the flywheel end fails prematurely. It has a steel cage.Porsche fitted a bearing with a metal seal so it was starved of oil. They then went to a plastic, maybe polyamide cage but this failed as well. There is a company in the US called L&N engieering that supply a repiar kit which has ceramic ball.We have fitted many of these to failed engines with no more issues. The down side though is cost but compared to a new engine which is over £10,000 it is a well spent upgrade.
