A different Grimeca 180mm question

Postby blethermaskite » Sun Aug 09, 2026 7:29 pm

Has any one looked at the twin leading shoe Enfield India bullet front brake plates (widely available on Ebay for £40 odd quid) as a potential fit for the twin sided Grimeca front hub? at their stated 7" diameter that's not too far away from 180mm at 177.8mm.......a bit of shoe and or pivot tweaking maybe just thicker linings? The previous post just jogged my memory re the Honda CB175 brake plate mod. It looks to me the Enfield ones would possible be easier to do the mirror image job........just a thought......anybody tried this??? Cheers George

hi George

a Honda CB175 front brake plate is 160 mm . with a little turning and milling it would fit a 158 mm Ducati rear hub

a Honda CB 160 brake plate is 180 mm and can be made to fit into a Ducati front hub

Hi Eldert, thanks for that link, old age memory malfunction on the cb175/cb160 front brake plates spec.........there can't be many of those (cb160) left now. Cheers George
