Replacement screen for road/race fairing

When I bought my 350 Mk3 back in 1977, I soon decided that my riding style deserved some sort of fairing to help with long, fast journeys.
The very fastest of those was Exeter to London (186 miles door to door) on the old roads - very little dual carriageway - in 2 hours 47 minutes. That's a bit quick, but it wasn't me, honestly, officer.
So I bought from Vic Camp a full race fairing which had an elliptical hole in the front, filled with clear acrylic, to allow the headlight to stay on the forks and shine through the fairing. Just such a fairing was used on some of his race bikes, and the half-fairing version was on the first generation of 750 Sport in about 1974, I think.
Any way, I pretty soon cut off the bottom skirts to ensure decent cooling when visiting my brother in London, leaving me with a half fairing, which is still with me and will be part of the finished "restoration". When it gets there.
But the screen is broken. Forty years ago, there were quite a few firms that made race screens, and cheaply too, but they're like hens' teeth in this century.
So may I ask those of you who have raced our bikes where I might get a replacement screen? I'm very happy to trim and drill, but I'm reluctant to do what one company suggested, which is send them my fairing for them to cut a new screen to fit - I really don't trust couriers with a bit of bendy fibreglass, however carefully I package it.
I'm sure the experience of our forum will come up with an answer. Or I could always just use clear tape to mend the broken one...

Hi Peter,

I can only suggest that you have the 'Vic Camp' type fairing, which was actually a copy of the factory fairing. These are still available from some sources, two of which spring to mind - Mead Speed and TGA. There was also another supplier in Essex called Bill Roberts Race Fairings, who was very good, but as the last time I used him was about twenty years ago and he was an old guy then, I doubt if he is still around.

i think Yamaha TZ250 H screen will fit . a google search shows Fondseca has then for 59 UK pound

As a Ford apprentice about a thousand years ago I was involved in building the cutaway engines for exhibitions. We used to fix perspex in the cutaway parts. These were formed to shape by heating, either in hot water or using hot air blower, and gently bending. Give it a try.

On my first 250 desmo in about 1978 it came with a yellow top half fairing with a window for the headlight, I was never sure if it was a Dunstall or a Vic Camp. So i dropped a bit of wood on it and broke the screen......I am almost certain I replaced it with a TZ Yamaha one, but it needed both trimmed to size and heated a bit to get a nice fit. Worth checking out.
