That's possible, Ralf, although the Ducati production year is usually considered to run from September to September (Why September? Because that was when the factory came back to work after the summer holiday).

Btw, having said I'd never seen a picture of a Scrambler with a rubber rear light mount, here is one ...

I'm inclined to think this is a photo/drawing from the period, rather than a restoration. My only doubt would be that the seat doesn't have a passenger strap which it should. The caption says it's a 1973 bike (which seems right), and the bike would be a 450.

A little more that may help:

1. If you have any questions about the bike or if you need any parts, go to Ducati Vintage Store.
https://www.ducativintagestore.com/

Ducati Vintage Store is run by Maurizio Casadei and Ombretta Tagliaferri, both delightful and helpful people and passionate 'Scrambleristas'.

It evolved out of the Amici dello Scrambler Club which they set up and ran for many years, http://www.ducatiscrambler.com/index.htm. Have a look through the photo gallery on the Amici site for ideas on how you might like your bike to look.

2. A couple of books, both in Italian. Neither are perfect, but both are worth having, especially the first.

This is out of print, but does turn up second-hand.

This you can get from Ducati Vintage Store.

3. This is the front cover of the June 1970 English language version of the owner's manual covering the 350 Scrambler. The Italian language version is red.
(That ISN'T a Scrambler in the picture, btw, but a Mark 3 fitted with a Scrambler tank, a US market special. There are pictures of the Scrambler inside, however).

4. The parts books are the standard 2-voloume work, covering 1968 -1973.

The book above by Massimo Clarke is available at:

https://www.gilena.it/

I ordered a copy just last week. Price is 45 Euro. Shipping to US is 37 Euro.

Hi Gianni,

just saw it too!
...and ordered it. :)

37€ shipping is quite expensive. I have to pay 15€ from Italy to Germany and already thought it was expensive.

@Craig: Thanks for the hint!

Ralf
