I never would have believed that! Maybe the brake fluid will not affect the seals? Anyway, it is not something that I will be trying!

Brake fluid is hygroscopic and behaves poorly when frothed, therefore in my opinion is not suitable for use in a motorcycle telescopic fork assembly, nor have I ever heard (until now) of it being used for this purpose. Considering the huge range of hydraulic oils available to experiment with ......... sorry but I just can't imagine why anyone would even try brake fluid

It could be mineral brake fluid? It's not so common but does exist e.g. Citroen cars with the power brakes and hydraulic suspension.
In my day job, we used to fit some Citroen parts for an agricultural application and used ISO15 mineral hydraulic oil, which is rather low viscosity compared to the generally used stuff in our products.
Citroen have their own LHM fluid which is a green colour from memory.

For what it's worth, my 175TS has ATF in the forks.
