Serial number identification

I have some early style 175 or 200 crankcases, but the serial numbers aren't like any listed in the Bevel Heaven registry- does anyone have any info on what engine this is?
The number stamped in the left/clutch side crankcase is: E1S2007

Since no one has answered this I will stick my neck out on this one.
Many years ago I was offered an engine with an E prefix.
Knowing that in the 250cc world an engine with an M1 or an M3 suffix was worth lots more than an engine without any suffix I thought I might have stumbled on something special.
If I recall correctly it was celebrated Ducati restorer Rich Lambrechts that told me the "E" prefix had no special meaning, and that pretty much all the engines of that displacement had the E prefix.
But before you dismiss the cases as "ordinary" I would suggest you get more opinions than just my anecdotal story.
