What is the recommended technique for removing the swing are hinge tube. Mine is stuck. I put an impact socket on one on end and sacked it. He pin move moved, but seems real tight.

I seem to recall taking mine out with a hard wood dowel and a mallet. The dowel splintered up quite a bit but did no harm to the pin.

I have since purchased a large brass drift wich I would probably use if I were to do the job again.

____ For those spindle-shaft/tubes which did not slide-out with a bit of tapping from a wood-peg, (assuming the pinch-bolts are well loose), I then used an extended-nose/deep-socket (which the shaft minimally fit within), and a 5/8ths threaded-rod (along-with washers & nuts) ...
With a couple of washers (almost the same diameter of the shaft's O.D.) held by a nut on one end of the rod, and with the rod slid-through the (hollow)-shaft and also through the deep-socket,, then with a nut & washer over the back-end of the socket (on the threaded-rod's opposite-end), tighten THAT nut until the shaft has been pulled-into the socket (& outward from it's place in the frame).
If the shaft then still can't be twisted-out (the rest of the way) by hand, then try applying some heat to the area, as well.

Thank you guys for the advice - got it out !

I am surprised that it was so stuck, it seemed to be hung up on the brass bushings on the swing arms.

Heat seemed to do the trick, or maybe it was the few choice Italian swear words, or both.

Anecdotal information: This may not be valid, but I heard if you install new swingarm bushings they must be line bored.

Road and Race used to sell an oversized pivot pin in order to circumvent the bother of installing new bushings and line boring them.

It sounds like yours is fine as was mine. A bit of good luck!
