Swing Arm Interchangability

Does anyone know if a 250 NC swing arm would fit in a 160 frame? I know the 250 arm is a few centimeters longer and is a little stiffer. It might also allow me to use an 18" rim in the rear.
I can't decide if I want to do this or not. If it does fit, I really can't see many downsides. Any comments? Thanks.
