Gear Lever

If anyone is looking for a gear lever and cannot find one, then have a look at the reverse lever made by Ducabike for the 916. It fits straight on to our singles and has the benefit of an adjustable toe piece, and being aluminium, and much lighter, clicks back into position better than the original steel item.

They are pricey £60 - 90 on eBay, but I guess that if new originals were available they would be more than that anyway.

Aye Colin, being a Luddite, I'm still using the original toe and heel, with rearsets on the pillion footrest mounts. Suits my size 10's.

I had a quick look at the "Ducabike" offering on eBay and then saw these as an alternative: eBay item number:318763747546

I have no idea of quality etc. but the Chinese appear to be on the case, when it comes to reducing costs! £11-99, with free postage.

Hi Bill,

I started off with one of the Chinese ones, but they are not much good; the splined area is very narrow and does not give enough area to get the lever to tighten up properly. They are ok for a 'get you home' measure, but the Ducabike ones are far superior.

I think all? of the Ducati V twins bevel and belt have the same size and spline as the singles (on the gear levers). Cheers George

Aye Colin, as I suspected, personally, I'd rather have a bit of steel to tramp on and if it's forged even better.
