Ranton Rambler Italian trip

Postby George » Mon Jan 12, 2026 7:33 pm

Hi Ian (Ranton-Rambler. Interesting article of your trip to Mandello in VMCC magazine. Good to see that you are not wasting your retirement. You may remember that you re-kindled my intrest in Ducati bevel singles some years ago. I still have and use my Elite and 350 Road, weather permitting, but have missed not having a Moto Guzzi. Today I purchaced a SuperAlce military 500 single to scratich an itch. Just hoping it doesn't prove to be to heavy. (Sorry everyone it is not a Ducati post)
Hope all the regulars on this site are keeping well I have not posted for some time as moving home is very time consuming.

Hi George,

Hope you are keeping well. What a great bike! I have always hankered after a Nuovo Falcone (civilian model). Let us know how you get on with it, and good luck with the move!

Cheers,

Colin

Thanks for the kind words George. It was a good trip although the weather was a bit too hot for my liking. The old Guzzi didn't mind!
Although I'm no longer an employee, I have been tempted back for a bit of consultancy although I can do that more flexibly and clear off to do other things when I want. The income from that means my pension stretches a bit further.

The only Guzzi single I have ridden was a friend's Falcone, but not far enough to really form an opinion. I hope you enjoy yours.
