Does anybody here know where I might find a rear mudguard for my '74 yellow desmo?

I think that the Ducati vintage store has them at a price..... What about 'Old Racing Spare Parts'?

Considering the rear mudguard is almost invisible once installed I would (and have in the past) just used a generic 100/120mm ish wide after market alloy mudguard plastic coated black.......think of the weight saving  and no one will ever notice ;) .
Cheers,
George

Neither Ducati Vintage or Old racing spares have the right one, although DV has the earlier version at a rather eye watering €420.

Me thinks I will use a generic guard.

Aye Ian,

My '74 450 MKIII rear mudguard fell apart around the rear light and numberplate mounting area, with metal worm.

So, I used the mudguard as a buck for moulding up a fibreglass replacement. My first and only attempt at fibreglass construction. Apart from not having the two supports moulded in for the seat mounting bolts to add support at the mid point it has worked fine and nobody has ever commented. I have made sure that there are rubber washers/ black tap washers between the mudguard and the frame mounting points and the rear light/number plate mounts and so far there are no splits or cracks, after over 20 years.

As George suggests a generic alloy mudguard of the correct x-section, painted or bulled would do the job, or you could purchase a stainless steel version and have the underseat supports fabricted and welded in place.

Good health, Bill

Hi,

in Germany we have Seby-Poly http://www.seby-poly.de/, who specializes in GFR parts for motorcycles. Unfortunately, their website isn't fully active presently. But the (german) catalog and a prize list are offered for download.

The catalog does not show images of the rear mudguards, so you should send them a request by email. Prizes are in €, strictly net as I see it.

cheers Hans
