Electirix world CDI-1630 no spark- stator coil test?

Hi, I have an Electrex world CDI ignition and alternator kit (STK-164) on my scrambler and I'm trying to troubleshoot a no spark issue.
I contacted the company and after a long wait recv'd a response suggesting I check the resistance for my red and green wires to my stator unit. I unplugged the connection at the CDI and am reading OL between the wires. (There is continuity between the green and ground/frame)
I sent this info back to them but so far they haven't replied saying what no resistance between these wires means or what I should be seeing here? (I assume this is how to check resistance of this coil)
So far the only other thing I did was try performing COLD continuity checks on the CDI and I think it checks out.

Any ideas or suggestions?
thanks

Hi Jeff
What does OL mean?

Open Line ? No continuity

I believe OL is open loop when trying to read the resistance. There is no continuity.

As they are asking for M ohms, if your multimeter can't read the resistance between your hands... k ohms or m ohms, it won't be sensitive to read the "M" ohms required and may just say OL.
It should read a resistance if you hold one probe in each hand - through your body.

So, that is what is displayed on the LCD screen? Thanks.

Can you post a picture of your multimeter?
That will tell someone (possibly even me

) whether it has sufficient sensitivity to measure Megohms.

Ay, at your service
Well, I recently installed a STK-164 on a friend's SCR 250 w/c. I was thinking of writing a little report about the job, and will do this soon. The problem mentioned did not occur during our work, the SCR started at the first kick an is still runnung fine, better than ever.
I can offer to repeat all the measurements you executed on that particular bike, and publish the results here, so we can compare them and find some consequences or solve the issue.
Indeed, it would be useful to know brand and model of the multimeter used.

Just reading what you have measured and where you measured it, could that indicate broken red or green wire? I don't know if this is your wiring or if it came with the kit. Are you able to measure very close to the stator?
In my experience with Electrex so far, their standard position is that you should check all the wiring first, before sending the unit back for testing.
With my first RR163 reg-rec which failed very soon after installation, that's what they said. I did it and could find no issue so I sent it back and called to let them know.
Their response was that they would test it, and if their unit was OK, I would need to pay for the test and the postage to get it sent back.
It must have been faulty as a new one arrived a couple of days later with no explanation.
