What are the 125s like?

I like the look of these but I've never ridden one. To me the OHC model embodies everything about most future Ducatis. Also I'm thinking of selling my 900 as it's too much of a beast. I ride my bikes only v occasionally. Thanks.

I bought one of these, a 125TS, in a bit of a run down condition. I I fixed the tyres, brakes and wiring, put on a new Dell Orto, and rode it.
It's great fun, light, handles well, but doesn't have a lot of power. You may notice that after a 900 :D .
It's also physically quite small.
I took it to the Colombres Rally, and while a little slow, did everything that I asked from it.
After the rally, I had the cam refurbished, new valves, springs and guides and a rebore with a Sport piston. That made a noticeable difference to the power (mind you, it was knackered.
If you're in no particular hurry and like light good handling bikes, then get one.

Hi Max, thank you. That kind of confirms my expectations. My days of feeling that the 900 is under-powered are well and truly behind me. These days I potter along slowly. I have a Honda VTR250 which I ride occasionally and it's nice (a V-twin!) but does feel a bit gutless, only 32hp. The 125 Duke has 10hp I think. Still it would be a most interesting bike to have in my collection.

The other question is what to do with the Vento? it's almost going.

I think the main thing is to always have a Ducati or 2, or even 3, in my life.

What to do with the Vento? Finish it of course!

Yes of course I'll finish it, the question is should it stay or should it go.

I would be sad to see it go but if it goes to the right home that would help.
