160 Monza float bowl

Trying to get a new project running ! I'm using a UB22BS and I'm not sure exactly what is the problem. It acts as if it is getting too much gas. I've tried different jets to no avail. It has or has had the proper jets and needle jet and new E16 needle . The question I have concerns the float bowl. Is the angle supposed to be perpendicular to the floor ? The carb sits level in relation to the floor but the float doesn't . It is about at 75 degrees or so ? A different intake manifold would cure it but finding one of those ? Or a different float bowl with no angle (straight with carb ). Whenever I've looked at pictues , it looks as though I have the right angle on the carb but I'm not positive. Any help is appreciated. That pic looks as if the carb is angled up a bit. I must have the wrong intake piece. The pic also shows the float bowl straight up and down which I would think to be correct.
Does anyone have a correct intake for a 160 ?

It is possible to alter the angle of the inlet stub, if that would help.

How would you do it ? I thought of a wedge shaped spacer or I guess I could cut the old one and re weld.

Cut & weld. It's how Ducati did some of the stubs themselves - for example 450s that needed a bend downwards for carb/frame clearance.
You don't need to cut all the way through, stop a few millimetres short, to allow it to "hinge" when a wedge is removed. It keeps things aligned, and gives a nice curve inside.
Brazing might be easier than welding. Afterwards, dress up the inside with files to get it smooth.
I've done it, works fine.
