Hi, I'm building a 350 Narrow case race bike and would like feedback on some aspects of these engines. I'm at the stage of making inlet tracts and exhaust system and I'd like to know what r.p.m a standard engine would develop peak power and what the max r.p.m. would be. Also, I'd welcome feedback from anyone who has run one on methanol re ignition setting. Cheers VF.

Hi VF,

There was an excellent three part article in the December 1965, February 1966 and a later issue of Cycle World. I am sure I got my copy of this from this forum. The article is referring to a 250cc model but explains all the calculations needed to determine port size taking into consideration reasonable piston acceleration and inlet port flow speed etc.

It is written by Gordon Jennings.

Can anyone point VF to the forum page that gave this attachment. If it cannot be found I can scan my copy but the quality won't be good.

Cheers,

Stewart D
