Removing side covers - 250 Narrowcase

Hi all, just starting to strip down my 250 Narrowcase Scrambler engine.

Top end all went fine and by the book. Also looks to have very little wear.

I'm just starting on the rest of the engine, and I've got stuck pretty quickly.

On the points side of the engine, I removed the gear change lever and adjustment nut, and then all the allen bolts, but what is best way to remove the rear cover?

I know for the other side there is a puller, but what about the points side/chain side?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ryan

not an expert ,i removed mine a couple of months ago now i think it just needed a bit of gentle taping with a rubber mallet, there's steel dowels at the allen key holes aprox 12 and five oclock in relation to the gear change spline.

The two right side engine covers are located by several dowel pins, which are a tight fit. Corrosion makes them even more difficult to release. If you leave the shift lever bolted in place you should be able to remove the selector box by pulling on the lever. Some sharp blows with a rubber hammer is usually sufficient to break the timing cover loose. Matt
