____ The valve provides greatest effect nearest the motor-case !
__ I'd buy PCV-units made to fit (a minimal length of) stock-sized hosing (for the intake-side of the valve, of course), and also with their exhaust-side made to fit into a smaller-sized hosing, which I'd route-over to terminate near the chain-guard (so as to breath any oil-mist onto the chain).
Such PCV-units come in different model-style versions which separate their intake & exhaust sides by 90-degrees -(for a right-angle turn), or also straight-through versions, of course.

Allright Bob, what did you do to my post here...!?
____ Bill, since it seems that you-yourself have changed your posting, it's hard for me to be sure as to exactly what has happened,, but I'm thinking I may have clicked on the EDIT-button instead of the QUOTE-button when I responded to your post.
__ If that's what I did, then I assure you that you can't imagine how bad I feel for loosing your original post (as it was) !
__ Last time I did such was to one of Jon's posts, and I don't think he forgave me for altering his original wording. _ And yours being even longer, I could not replace it from memory.
__ In any case, I'm very sorry Bill !
Hopefully you can replace your missing post-wording without too much trouble to yourself.
And by the way, I think that it's not only worth replacing but also it's frame-modification subject-matter is quite worthy of being included with the others in the thread related to such. - viewtopic.php?f=3&t=204&start=20#p3973
__ I hope you're not too awfully upset.
So sorry once again,
-Bob
