I wish it fit.. the guzzi does use an insulator as well. Its just a couple of mm too large. Unless they make a thicker insulator it wont fit properly.

850Guzzi-carb Should Fit VHB-type Duke-manifold

" Unless they make a thicker insulator it wont fit properly. "

____ I just checked a number of old Guzzi-manifolds (to confirm I wasn't mistaken about any), and they all were indeed with the same O.D. as that for DUCATIs, thus all the related carbs are fully interchangeable ! _ So I've never had any clue before that there's ever been any such fitment change before Guzzi switched-over from the VHB-models to the larger bodied Del.carbs.
So it seems to me that the 850Guzzi-manifolds & carbs which YOU have, are odd-ball sized.
Perhaps the insulator-sleeve still within your 29mm-carb would fit within the sleeve that's within the Guzzi-carb ?
__ Just for a temporary try-out, you could possibly wrap your 450's manifold with a few layers of tape, just so as to hold the Guzzi-carb in place long enough to find-out how well it works.
I've done so using a few turns of foil-tape on a smaller manifold (to hold a 24mm-carb), and it held-up better than I had expected but still allowed the carb to work-loose after a few heat-up & cool-downs, so even with that best type of tape, ya can't expect 'tape' to last (like the correct sized insulator-sleeve would).

Hopeful-Cheers,

PLEASE NOTE... If this-post is not-yet signed-off with '-Bob', then I'm still in the process of completing it,, and if not also included with 'DCT' near bottom as well, then I may edit this post's wording at a later time. - Dct.Bob
