Bill, £50 an hour....maybe I need to put my labour rate up....but then I take my time!

I'm of the opinion that lower prices will mean more people will be likely to use the bikes. Also youngsters like myself (approaching 61) maybe able to afford those bikes :-) The investment business has done little for the scene and only lined the pockets of some.

Eventually "if"my workload subsides, I'm planning to get my 350 on the road....in my head this summer. I'll let you know about the clipons

Regards all

Nigel

Hi all
Perhaps all you youngsters should stop dwelling on what you can't do anymore and start looking forward to what you can do.
At age 81 I have just returned from a 100 mile run on my Elite. Yes it has raised handlebars, indicators, mirrors and a soft seat but if that's what it takes so be it. Twisty bits still enjoyable and will cruise along at a comfortable 55MPH on main roads.
For longer journeys I wheel out the 350 that I have now added a wind screen to and makes for a relaxing ride.
NEVER GIVE IN.

Couldn't agree more George, crack on. That is a bonnie Elite that you have there. I too find with the 450, 55 - 65 mph cruising on A roads is no bother at all and going down the box to 4th, soon gets you past, in most overtaking manouvres.

Aye Nigel, you may take your time, but you and we know that it'll be right and that peace of mind is worth an awful lot. Thank you for your dedication and I hope that the 350 gets an airing. My 350 may have to wait till a bit later in the year for more attention, at present the miles are increasing on the rest of the fleet, in between all the other house maintenance/gardening jobs and ....... just keeping busy and interested.

Good health, Bill

Speaking of old. My riding partner this past weekend for the 320 mile two day motogiro was 80 years old. He finished the whole course (on his 1966 Honda 250). I of course (age 65) broke down at the 44 mile mark on my 1962 Ducati 200GT.
